So after my last entry I decided to look into who some of the contenders for best picture may be, and it is my prediction that it will be one of the following:
-Martin McDonagh's In Bruges starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Ralph Fiennes; limited release 8 February
-Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt; set to be released 26 September
-Oliver Stone's W. starring Josh Brolin and Elizbeth Banks; set to be released 17 October
-John Hillcoat's The Road starring Viggo Mortensen; set to be released 26 November
-Baz Luhrmann's Australia starring Hugh Jackman; set to be released 14 November
-Ron Howard's Frost/Nixon starring Michael Sheen and Frank Langella; set to be released 5 December
-Sam Mendes' Revolutionary Road starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet; set to be released 26 December
-Edward Zwick's Defiance starring Daniel Craig; set to be released 12 December
-David Fincher's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett; set to be released 19 December
-Joel and Ethan Cohen's Burn After Reading starring Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Frances McDormand (duh!), and John Malkovich; set to be released 12 September
-Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, and Aaron Eckhart; released 18 Jully
-Ridley Scott's Body of Lies starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe; set to be released 10 October
Or is too much to ask for the Cohen Bros to get nominated for Best Picture two years in a row? Hell, maybe they can get two Oscars in a row. But really, if a comic book flick ever gets Best Picture, it will be The Dark Knight. Although, it would be amazing if In Bruges could get the nod...
All or most of the nomations for Best Actor, Actress and Supporting Actor, Actress will probably come from those films too. Supporting Actor is almost guaranteed to go to Heath Ledger, I think, but Ralph Fiennes, Brendan Gleeson, George Clooney, and Robert Downey Jr. (for Charlie Bartlett), and Aaron Eckhart will be his competition.

joseph gordon-levitt has small supporting role in the Spike Lee movie, not the star. You should use IMDb.com to check the names of the 4 leading actors before posting.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the lead detective investigating the murder in the story - definitely not a small role by any means. It is pretty obvious that I referenced IMDB...
