It's been too long since I've written to this.
I've decided that Aaron Eckhart and Heath Ledger are two of my favourite actors. But not because of The Dark Knight - that just reassured my choice. Christian Bale is up there too. But again, not because of The Dark Knight. And Christopher Nolan is probably one of the best directors of today. And not just because of The Dark Knight.
Have you seen Bill? Starring Eckhart, Logan Lerman, Elizabeth Banks, and Jessica Alba? It's pretty much amazing. You should check it out. I've never seen a bad film starring Aaron Eckhart (although I never watched No Reservations...). Thank You For Smoking is amazing. Bill is awesome, like I just said. He was awesome as Two Face - better than Tommy Lee Jones, I think. Conversations With Other Women starring him and Helena Bonham Carter is probably one of the most interesting flicks I've seen. The Black Dahlia wasn't as good as expected, but it was still good nonetheless. I don't remember him in The Missing, but I remember it being a good film. Paycheck was pretty good too. I need to watch the rest of his movies.
I need to watch all of Heath Ledger's too. And Christian Bale's. And I've seen most of Christopher Nolan's films, but not all of them. Have you seen the Prestige? It's hard to follow, but I haven't met anyone who didn't like it. Insomnia starring Robin Williams and Al Pacino is really good too. One of Williams' best roles. I like him much better in serious roles like that. I heard he was considered for the part of The Joker. I'm glad he didn't get it. But I think he would make a really good Riddler - whom I think is going to show up in the next Batman (if Nolan attempts to live up to the hype of The Dark Knight that is).
If you want to see Ledger in Bale in another movie together, watch I'm Not There - that flick about Bob Dylan. I mentioned it on here once before. Ledger plays an actor who stars in a biopic about Bale's character, I think. It's something like that.
I don't think anyone will be trying to make another Batman series anytime soon. Nor do I think The Joker is going to be included in a Batman story for a long, long time - if ever again. The only person I can think of who can even touch Ledger right now in regards to the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor is Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face. But there is still another half a year to go almost, so we'll see what happens.
Did you ever see The Lords of Dogtown? It was after seeing that film that I knew Heath Ledger was going to make it big. The Dark Knight has only assured this. I'm anticipating his real final film: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. It's a Terry Gilliam film starring Tom Waits and Christopher Lee, as well as Ledger. After Ledger died, though, Gilliam made a couple clever rewrites and now the role of 'Tony' will be played by four actors: Ledger, Johnny Depp, Colin Ferrell, and Jude Law - four of the best 'young' actors of today. It's guaranteed to be amazing, I think.
I also watched Charlie Bartlett and Rocket Science recently. They're both very good movies.

If you haven't seen Heath Ledger in Candy, you should. That's the best I've ever seen him.
I've almost picked that up at the movie rental place a couple of times, but haven't. I need to.
