p-p-p-p-poker face p-p-p-p-poker face

I just posted this as a note on Facebook:

RULES: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs (+) on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 random people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)

1. Two of my best friends live in the UK, and it really sucks not having them nearby when I need them or even being able to conveniently call or text them; some days are worse than others. I make up for it by spending an almost unhealthy amount of time with the only person in the country that is on the same level as them.

2. I've never claimed to have a photographic memory (excepting when I was like 5 years old and was just trying to be cool), but for whatever reason my memories of London are more vivid than anything else. To this day I can still picture things exactly as they were. I could draw you a map from Holloway Road to Doughty Street with just a few errors and could easily diagram my flat as well as the Crosby household.

3. I started writing a novel a few weeks ago and right now I'm at 20k words - give or take. I had initially wanted to be done by the end of the month, but I got behind. Regardless, I'm pretty proud of myself. This is the most I've ever written on one thing and the most dedicated I've ever been to a piece of literature. I've started novels before, but always get bored or distracted and never finish, but that's not the case with this one. It's divided into five parts, and I just have parts three and four left to write, and I know exactly what is going to be included in them (for the most part). It will be ready to be sent out to publishers by Christmas so long as nothing terrible happens between now and then.

4. My left knee has been bothersome for probably close to two years now. My right knee has joined it and now I can barely stand to sit through class sometimes because I'm in so much pain. I see a sports physician next Wednesday and then most likely a surgeon after the MRI that he will most likely order.

5. I've lost track of how many funerals I've been to. I'm only 20 years old and I've probably been to more funerals than some of your parents have. I haven't even gone to every single funeral for every person I know who has died either. If I had, I don't think I'd fear death anymore.

6. It used to be that I only read "classic" books, but my three favourites books (About a Boy, The Kite Runner, Jarhead) were all written within the past ten years.

7. I have a habit of making friends that are younger than me, which makes things difficult at times. I absolutely hate that I can't experience high school with them or go to dances, football games, etc. with them. Along with that, since they're younger than me their friends are obviously younger than me too, which can make things akward when they want them to come along too.

8. 27, 72, and any variations of those numbers are my absolute favourite. I've honestly no idea why. When I'm out driving I tend to notice the 27 mile marker more often than any other.

9. I'm convinced that thanks to the Three Jeffs (Easthon, Fay, McPheron), very few people at my high school knew my first name as the three of them always referred to me simply as 'Dill'.

10. I once accidentally stole a school lunch tray. Joel Anderson put it in my bag when I took my own tray up. We later stole two more. One of them remains under the set in my car.

11. When I was in London I threw up all over a bathroom stall at the University College London's student's union.

12. Human sexuality has always been a topic that I've found highly interesting. The only reason I don't pursue a degree involving that is because I have no idea what I would do with it.

13. Even though I own an iPod Touch, I still continue to purchase CDs and listen to them.

14. I would do absolutely anything for a chance to be in London on the 28th.

15. Sometimes I like to pretend that I am an artist by scribbling out song lyrics in a kinda artsy fashion.

16. Bob Dylan is my absolutely all-time favourite musical artist. I've seen him live twice and would go see him again and again and again even though he sounds absolutely horrible anymore these days.

17. Even though I'm going to school to be a history teacher I can't help myself from trying to get someone to find their inner-writer. I think most everyone can write, it's just a matter of being able to find what you're capable of writing, figuring out how you're able to write it, and then taking the effort to actually write it.

18. As much as I like to help people, I find it difficult to actually comfort someone when they need it. Instead I usually end up just listening, which I guess does help in a way.

19. For whatever reason I have found writing this note to be slightly emotionally draining. It takes a lot for me to be completely open about myself like this. I like it when people tag me in stuff like this, but at the same time I hate it. There are some people I tagged in this who already know a lot of what I've written here because I've told them and talked to them about it - no problem doing that one-on-one with someone I trust. But I don't trust something like 99.9% of the people I'm facebook friends with that will be able to read this. Maybe I don't want them to know that I don't trust them or that I have shit knees. Too late now, I guess.

20. I absolutely cannot stand inconsistent sounds (i.e. music, TV, etc.) or light when I'm sleeping. Sleeping with a fan on is no problem though, and I actually prefer it. If my alarm clock face is too bright I turn it away from my bed. As you might guess, I don't get the best of sleep in my dorm.

21. Even though I have over 100 contacts on MSN, I only speak to 3-5 people on it regularly. I don't even know who the majority of those other contacts are.

22. There are two people whom I tell almost pretty much every little thing to. They know almost every detail of my life. There would be a third person if I was able to speak with him more often. The three of them can predict my every move and have actually finished my sentences before as odd as that sounds, but I've finished some of their sentences before as well.

23. I consider myself to be a Self-Proclaimed Reform Socialist. Meaning, I'm all for equality and fairness. People have certain inalienable rights that they should receive no matter how much or how little money they have in their pockets. In contrast, I'm not a big fan of such a large portion of my paycheck going into Social Security when I'll never get to use it because: A) I'll be a teacher and will collect something else and B) It'll be all dried up by then anyway.

24. I drive a 2001 Chevy Malibu named Francesa. This replaced the 1996 Ford Contour that I used to have. The timing belt broke on it, which ultimately destroyed the entire engine. It died on the side of 47 when I was on my way to meet my dad for lunch and then head back to Wright State. Was not at all a good way to start the day.

25. I'm kind of an internet geek. I've been a member of several messageboards since I first got a computer and the internet about 10 years ago. There's really only one that I frequent now, and I've been a member for around 8 years. I've made loads of great friends from there, even though I've never met some of them. I met a large portion of them though when I was in London last year. We had a large meet-up that involved drinking from around 3pm to around 3-4am. It was a very good night.
